Overview
CORE PRO Series speaker cables are high performance and exceptional quality cables that are crafted with high-purity 99.999% Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) to enable you to unlock the full potential of your audio system. That's why when developing a product, we research and test raw materials to find the best as well as test different methods of manufacturing that impact the performance and sound quality.
Copper is the most important raw material for audio cables. However, there are different specifications. Copper Clad Aluminium (CCA) is an inexpensive raw material that may be used in other manufacturer cables which is only about 60% as conductive as the Copper used in CORE's audio cables. Being only ~60% conductive, there will be high cable resistance to the impedance of the speakers, impacting the sound quality dramatically with impaired transient response, frequency response aberrations, increased distortion at the speaker terminals and reduced inter-channel separation. That's why we only use high-purity 99.999% Oxygen Free Copper (OFC).
The large cross-sectional area of copper conductors ensures that the incredible performance levels are maintained even on longer cable runs.
CORE's Twisted-Pair construction reduces both sonic degradation and interference.
To make polarity identification easier, the two cores are red and black. The cable is then encased in a PVC LSZH jacket.
There are various grades for a cable's fire performance. CORE Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cables are manufactured to pass CPR (Construction Products Regulation) Class Dca whilst other cable manufacturers may only pass Eca. An Eca test is a basic test that only measures vertical flame spread. In addition to this test, Dca has a requirement to test for toxic fumes (acid gas), smoke and flaming droplets, making the CORE LSZH jacket superior.
The cable comes in CORE's Easy-Pull, tangle-free box, making cable pulling effortless.
